re: Loot Rules
<Overrated> Loot Distribution and Policies.
LOOT DISTRIBUTION:
We use an EPGP (Effortspoints/GearPoints) aka Relational DKP system.
What this means is DKP is not the sole factor of determining who gets loot. Where you are in line to get loot is calculated as:
Priority (P) = Efforts Point (EP)/ Gear Points (GP)
A more detailed explanation can be found here:
http://code.google.com/p/epgp/wiki/WhatIsEPGP_v2
The mods that we use to determine/maintain the EPGP is found here:

Standings in Priority can be found:

It is recommended for you to install those addons so you have an up to date tracking of your own dkp.
HOW TO EARN EP:
Simple show up for raids. New bosses earns more than farmed, but gear price stays the same.
Hard Mode End Instance Boss: 1000 EP
End Instance Boss: 750
First Time Hard Modes Kill: 750 EP
Second Time Hard Modes Kill: 500
Farmed Hard Modes Kill: 250
First Time Boss Kill: 500 EP
Second Time Boss Kill: 250 EP
Farmed Boss Kill: 100 EP
Learning New Boss: Anywhere from 100 to 500 EP
Showing up on time and be prepared: 100 EP
HOW IS GP CALCULATED?:
GP is calculated by a series of formulas. Item level, as well as rarity affect the value. The GP values that we use will be based on the EPGP mod which calculates it automatically.
FARM CONTENT:
When deemed by the officers, an instance will go on farm, and loot becomes a basis of /random. On certain occasions such as a veteran member going to farm content for a certain drop WILL get priority over a newer member for that same item. Only fair for the veteran member being there since the beginning. Sorry new guys, but your time will come.
LOOT ETIQUETTE:
We all know we raid for loot. Anyone that says otherwise is full of it. Knowing that, we encourage passing of loot to members who will further our progression, which in turn allow us as a whole to reap the benefits of that. (an example would be allowing the MT to gear up appropriately faster than an OT). In rare cases officers may decide who gets a certain item regardless of current EP.
PRIMARY vs SECONDARY:
On top of the EPGP system, we will implement restrictions such as Primary vs Secondary roles. What that means is, if your main role in our current raid is a healer, you may not get an item over a dps caster even though your Priority is higher. Armor type is not an issue, leather dps gear that is best for mail or plate users will have same priority and pay same GP as leather users. Weapons however goes to class specific first, meaning bows goes to hunters first and melee weapons goes to melee first. An item in question will drop to Secondary if no Primary roles want that item. When it drops, the GP value is 1/10th of the original, if more than one player wants it as Secondary the one with the highets current Priority will get it.
* Amendment: Any Primary passing on a big upgrade will not be allowed to get item at Secondary price, these upgrades are for minor upgrades that people don't feel like paying full price for. Usually our guideline for a minor upgrade is of same or lower Item Level, and a big upgrade is of higher Item Level. In effect, get upgrades when they drop, don't sit and wait for a specific gear upgrade.
TRASH DROPS:
Raids will be set on FFA. We will have a dedicated looter. All Green loot will be sent to bank to get DE'd. These mats may be accessed and used for Enchants towards raiding. The cost will be a very reduced price comparatively to the AH.
BoE Epics will only be available for Primary Spec at normal GP value. If no Primary wants, item goes to Guild Bank. All BoE items will be offered to raiders to buy first before we sell it on the AH, if more than one are interested they will /roll for it...DO NOT SELL our BoE on the AH, use them either on main or your alts.
BoP Epics follow normal loot rules of Primary and Secondary.
Patterns, Item made is BoE: Will go to the guild crafter in that profession, typically an officer first and then to players with that profession with highest overall EP.
Patterns, Item made is BoP: Priority for those that can use the item at secondary GP value.
Special Mats Drops will usually have a GP value of 20 each, depending on drop rate.
Special Drops: Like Mounts etc, the player with the highest EP will have first pick at normal GP value, if no GP value can be calculated by the mod, a value will be made by the officers.
Relics, Tomes etc that are class specific items are all at Secondary price.
DECAYING EPGP:
To prevent hoarding we will apply a schedule of point Decay. What this does is reduce the amount of EP for everyone by a set percentage. (In our case , that is 7%). This reduces the disparity in points between a veteran player and a new join, but still maintain the Priority ratio the same. It also prevents and limits veteran players that haven't raided for a period of time to keep their points and come in a new instance and win an item. The current Decaying schedule is set to Weekly. It will be adjusted accordingly.
MINIMUM EP:
This is the minimum amount of EP you have to have in order for your Priority to take effect. This is currently set at 1000. This is attainable by attending raids, etc.
COMING PREPARED:
Key factors for raiding successfully with limited time is coming prepared and on time. For that we will award 100 EP, it includes coming on at 6:15 at the latest and being ready for invites, unless you have given an officer notice that you will be late, in which case spots will be held until 6:30 at the latest for this extra EP award. Come prepared, means having gear repaired, having dps/tank/heal/resist sets with you, come with own food and flasks. Anyone not using Flask/Pots on progression nights will like be deducted EP and likely sat/replaced. Officers will be available before raid for purchase of flasks.
STANDBY'S AND GETTING POINTS:
From time to time, you are going to get sat because we need a certain class make up, or you are not up to par for the raiding we have to do that night. Those on standby will still earn the same amount of points as those raiding, BUT you must be present at the start when we write your name down, and at the end of raid. During that time you can go watch TV, go on an alt etc.. as long as there is a viable way to contact you. (most ppl stay on vent or sometimes leave a phone number). YOU WILL NOT BE REIMBURSED points if we can't reach you or you miss the call at the end of the night for standby's. In the event that we need you and you are not there, your points pass that point in time will be forfeited.
TARDINESS:
During raids we give breaks. When it is time to return it is expected that everyone is ready and focus to continue. If at any time you are late when we are trying to start after a break you will be forfeiting your EP for the current boss or the next one. Harsh, but you are letting others sit and wait.
MISSING RAIDS FOR A PERIOD OF TIME:
If you miss raids for a period of 2 weeks without any notice or reasonable excuse, you will lose 50% of your points. If you miss raids for a period of 4 weeks, you will lose all your points. This is to discourage people from taking a hiatus without giving a reason. Obviously RL > WoW, but you have to have a valid reason. Please communicate that with an officer.
Also if you cannot maintain a 66% attendance (that's 2 of the 3 days of raiding) you are also subjected to the decay and likely to be sat more often. Snap shots of the raiding roster is taken 2-4 weeks in order to keep a status quo. Yes RL happens, but we have to maintain some kind of benefit and incentive to being dedicated and committed. If RL was that bad for you, and cannot agree with the rules, maybe the guild or even WoW isn't for you. Take care of RL first, worry about what happens in game later.
ALTS:
Only mains will be raiding our 25 mans, unless an alt is requested by an officer.
POLICIES:
Having 2 or more raiding toons:
This is directed mostly to those that have a raiding toon here and another one in a different guild. Our stance on this is generally going to be NO! There will be special circumstances that may allow you to raid with both guilds because you have the time, but we do not want to create any conflicts and have it affect our roster while we are trying to raid progressively. If you wish to discuss the various possibilities, we invite you to talk to an officer.
